Hi girls!
Last Friday our Bible study was about love, and so we were discussing how we could be loving to each other during the week. At one stage we talked about starting up an email chain/a "space" where we could share loving things/thoughts/pictures/quotes to each other.
I guess it's also a great way to keep each other accountable, share things you want to thank God about, or things to pray about.
I don't really know how long this will last, hopefully at least till the end of this 1 John series, and if it goes really well then we can share it with the other girls (that's me being hopeful!)
So let me get the ball rolling-
I think love is a hard thing to express because sometimes what you feel doesn't really mesh with what you do or say. Let me illustrate with an example from the 6th harry potter movie. This excerpt is a conversation between Harry and Ron. Harry has his eyes set on Ginny, and Ron starts to get feelings for Hermione (and is angsty about Dean dating his little sister).
Ron Weasley: [about Ginny and Dean] What do you think he sees in her?
Harry Potter: She's smart... funny... attractive...
Ron Weasley: Attractive?
Harry Potter: Well you know... she has nice... skin.

Ron Weasley: So you think he is going out with her because she has nice skin?
Harry Potter: Well, I dunno, I'm just saying it could be a contributing factor.
Ron Weasley: Hermione's got nice skin. You know, as far as skin goes.
Harry Potter: I-I've never thought about it before. But now that you mention it, yeah. Very nice.

Harry Potter: [long pause] ... I think I'll be going to bed now.
My aim for this 'blog' is that we show our love for God and each other. So don't be a closet lover (like Harry and Ron), but I hope we can be proactive in how we can love one another. So yeah, feel free to post cute cuddly photos, links, messages, bible verses- all that jazz!
